Welcome to 6th Grade Literature!

Syllabus

    Vocabulary:

  Each two weeks the 6th grade will complete a unit in the vocabulary workbook. The first week students will complete workbook pages and take a spelling test. The second week the students will take a vocabulary test. Sixth graders are responsible for knowing the definition, spelling, antonyms, synonyms, and parts of speech for the twenty words.

Vocabulary test: Friday, October 3rd

Extra Vocabulary Practice for Level A

*Students will be able to purchase a replacement book for $5 at any point in the year from either myself or Mrs. Maslowski.*

  Literature:  We have just begun reading Walk Two Moons. While reading this book, students will be studying types of characters, the standard parts of plot, theme, and the genres this story falls under.

Homework for this Week:

   Monday, September 29th:  Read chapters 22 and 23 in Walk Two Moons for Wednesday . Keep your map updated if Sal and her grandparents travel anywhere! Literary terms and Agenda worksheets due Wednesday. Unit 2 vocabulary test on Friday. Students need to know the definition, spelling, antonyms, and synonyms of the words in unit 2!

Wednesday, October 1st: Read chapters 24 and 25 for tomorrow.  Underneath it all worksheet due Friday. Study for vocab test Friday too.

Thursday, October 2nd: Read chapters 26 and 27 for tomorrow. Underneath it all worksheet due tomorrow too.

Study for spelling test tomorrow and complete vocab pages!

Friday, October 3rd: Unit 2 vocab test today! Read chapters 28-30 for Monday.
