Learning Specialist
The Learning Specialist at Our Lady of Grace serves as the liaison to Edina’s elementary and middle school special education teachers for our students on Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s). The Learning Specialist also coordinates support for OLG students with learning disabilities who qualify for 504 Plan accommodations in the classroom and on standardized tests, and monitors classroom adherence to the IEP and 504 plans. Additional duties include assisting the principal to provide leadership for staff development, serving as an informal resource to teachers regarding classroom strategies and grading concerns and membership on the OLG Education Committee.
Deb Hoffman
Learning Specialist
Deb Hoffman has been in education 30 years
in both public and private systems. She taught middle school in
California for six years, and has been in district and building
level administration in Minnesota for 24 years. In addition, Ms.
Hoffman has been an adjunct faculty in the graduate schools of education
at Hamline University and at St. Mary's University for 15 years. She has a BA degree from the College of St. Catherine and a MS degree
from Cardinal Stritch College.
