Athletics

Our Lady of Grace offers five different sports in three different seasons. Included are: soccer (boys/girls 5-8) and volleyball (girls 4-8) in the fall; basketball (boys/girls 5-8) in the winter; and baseball (boys 5-8) and softball (girls 5-8) in the spring. Registered members of Our Lady of Grace School are eligible to participate.

Coaches for OLG teams may include parents, siblings, former OLG students and current OLG faculty. Coaches emphasize the basic skills of the sport they are directing, the team concept in which these skills are used and the sportsmanship that should be applied at all levels of athletics.

The number of teams in each grade level is dependent on the number of participants registered with the school/parish Athletic Director. When the number of registered participants allows for more than one team in a grade level, the level of ability within the registered participants, is distributed as evenly as possible among all teams involved.  Teams will never be formed with the more skilled players on one team and the lesser skilled players on another.

Our Lady of Grace is a charter member of the Southside Youth Organization, often referred to as the SSYO. This organization is comprised of south metro parochial and non-public schools. They offer competitive programs, for boys and girls, in a Christian atmosphere.
